Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Advises Travelers to Avoid Transiting Through Thailand and Suspend Use of Thai Airlines

PHNOM PENH:

“I would like to inform Your Excellencies, Ambassadors, Consuls General, and Honorary Consuls that since the outbreak of armed aggression against Cambodian territory, Thai authorities have engaged in inappropriate conduct, causing hardship and fear for foreign travelers and Cambodian citizens transiting through Thailand to Cambodia. These actions by Thai authorities have included detention, interrogation, video recording, and luggage searches.

In order to prevent such intimidation and inappropriate treatment by the Thai authorities, the Ministry hereby instructs Cambodian diplomatic missions abroad to notify both Cambodian and foreign travelers to avoid transiting through Thailand and to temporarily suspend the use of Thai airline services until further notice.

May Your Excellencies, Ambassadors, Consuls General, and Honorary Consuls strictly implement the above instructions.”
