On the morning of 23 April 2026, His Excellency PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a bilateral meeting and had in-dept discussions with His Excellency WANG Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, during the latter’s official visit to Cambodia following the successful convention of the First Meeting of the “2+2” Strategic Dialogue between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Ministers of National Defence of the two countries in Phnom Penh.

Both sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to further deepening political, defense, security, and economic cooperation, while continuing to strengthen the robust political trust and enduring ironclad friendship between Cambodia and China. The discussions underscored the importance of enhancing collaboration in key areas, including political and security affairs, trade, investment, infrastructure development, agriculture, efforts to combat online scams, and the promotion of people-to-people connectivity. The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the upholding of international law and addressing border issues between Cambodia and Thailand. by MFAI
